AUTHOR BIO: 

Natasha S. Alford is an award-winning journalist, author, and media executive. As a mom and former schoolteacher, she is passionate about teaching children to love themselves and their family stories. She is the author of American Negra, a memoir about growing up African American and Puerto Rican in the United States, which won an International Latino Book Award. Natasha currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Content Officer at TheGrio. She lives in New Jersey with her family.

ILLUSTRATOR BIO: 

Natalia Rojas Castro is an illustrator based in Bogotá, Colombia. Her work is deeply inspired by her environment: the streets, people, colors, and landscapes of Colombia and Latin America. When she is not drawing, she enjoys long walks, collecting visual references, and experimenting with new creative forms. She is the illustrator of Daughter of the Light-Footed People and The Good Night Airport, as well as many other picture books.
